Busitema University coach Abdulnoor Musisi was left disappointed after his side was held to a 1-1 draw by Kumi University in the University Football League on Wednesday.
The home side had a chance to bounce back from their heavy 7-1 defeat to Uganda Christian University, but they were unable to take their chances and had to settle for a point.
“We had plans, but God had better plans,” Musisi said.

“We were just not clinical enough in our home game. We got six or seven chances, but we only converted one. Let’s rectify the mistakes and return as a better side.”

Kumi took the lead in the 23rd minute through Stephen Nyalimo, but Busitema equalized in the 41st minute thanks to an own goal from David Opolot.
The draw leaves Busitema in second place in Group D with four points, while KIU is third with three points. UCU leads the group with nine points, while Kumi is bottom with one point.
Kumi coach John Opam admitted that his team relaxed after making a good start to the game.
“It was not easy, but these things happen,” Opam said.
“We started with full energy, but we relaxed later. We are hopeful that we can get back in full gear in the next games. We need to convert our chances, then we will get results.”
