Edwin Nuwagaba, the captain of Busoga College Mwiri was in the mood to unleash fire on Wednesday as his side returned to action at the Sky View Boys Schools Cricket Week.

Mwiri rested on Tuesday, but when they took to the field on Wednesday, their skipper was well motivated as they beat both Teso College, Aloet and Kilembe SS convincingly.

The defending champions saw off Teso College by 91 runs before beating Kilembe by 8 wickets. Nuwagaba knocked 89 in the morning game and 70 not out in the afternoon as Mwiri secured their fifth win in the competition.

Teso College

Both Mwiri and Jinja SS remain the only teams in Group A yet to lose a game, but the two wins take Mwiri top of the group as they’ve played a game more.

Victor Aroma was the star of the show in the St. Joseph’s College Layibi vs St. John’s High School game.

Aroma dismissed four wickets in the day’s low scoring game as St. John’s eased past Layibi by 9 wickets.

Aroma then picked three more against St. John’s SS in the afternoon, but Jackson Asiku who picked 4 was the main man here.

In the Masaka SS vs Delhi Public School International match, both Anas Baig (4/14) and Shubang Rao (74) were outstanding for their Delhi side, but Delhi were unable to edge a spirited Masaka side. They lost that game by 33 runs, their fourth loss of the tournament.

It is a result that demotes Delhi to fourth while elevating Masaka to third.
