Bweya Soccer academy and Zana mixed are the third and fourth teams to reach round of 32 of the Mutalaga cup.
Bweya dominated their match against Billions in group I, hammering them 4-0 on Monday 2 September 2024 at Lweza play ground to secure their place. Ismail Ali and Joseph Kanyanya both bagged a brace for Bweya in the crucial win.
Zana Mixed benefited from Entebbe Young’s 1-0 victory over Landmine, advancing to the knockout stage. Malita Kasimu scored the only goal of the game.
Bweya Academy currently leads the group with 10 points from 4 matches, while Zana Mixed is in second place with 7 points and has one more match to play.
The two teams joined Birongo FC and Mayinja FC who reached the knockout stages with a game to spare.
The Matalaga Cup, which started with 80 teams, is now in its knockout stages. Only 28 more teams will join the already qualified 4, while 48 teams will be eliminated in the group stage.
