Representing Uganda alongside St. Mary’s is Kawempe Muslim SSS in the girls’ category, where they drew 0-0 with Alliance High School of Tanzania.

Coach Moses Nkata expressed confidence in their ability to improve, stating they’ll build off the first game and deliver better performances in the upcoming matches.

The CECAFA Qualifiers, running from December 10th to 13th, 2023, aims to unite talented young athletes under 15 from across East Africa (Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Somalia, Rwanda, and Burundi) to showcase their skills.

Last year’s champions in the boys’ category were Royal Giant High School, while Amus College-Bukedea finished third in the girls’ category.

Both Kawempe Muslim SSS and St. Mary’s Boarding Kitende earned their spots in the CECAFA Qualifiers by winning the nationals held in Kabale.
