Uganda’s Kawempe Muslim SS have secured a spot in the final of the girls’ CAF African Schools Football Championship following a remarkable performance on Tuesday.

Previously drawing their opening match on Monday, Kawempe bounced back in style, winning three consecutive games to reach their first-ever final.

The domination continued against Rwanda, with Kawempe cruising to a 3-0 victory thanks to goals from Lydia Namaseruka, Shadia Nabirye, and Tracy Nabalanzi.

The final match proved more challenging, but Kawempe ultimately prevailed 1-0 against Kenya. Haira Nabbosa‘s decisive goal secured the win and a berth in the final.

Kawempe finished at the top of the group with 10 points, just one ahead of Kenya, who they will face in the final on Wednesday. Head coach Moses Nkata expressed his pride in his team’s determination and commitment to their game plan.

“We’re thrilled to reach the final in our first ever appearance in this tournament,” he said.

“We started slowly but used the first game to improve, and here we are in the final. My girls played their hearts out and followed our game plan meticulously. I’m incredibly proud of them.”

With the final set for Wednesday, all eyes will be on Kawempe Muslim SS and their quest for a historic title.
