Kampala Queens captain Shakirah Nankwanga is confident ahead of their opening clash against Kenya Police Bullets in the CAF Women’s Champions League Zonal Qualifiers, set for Thursday at Nyayo Stadium.

With a place at this year’s CAF Women’s Champions League in November on the line, Nankwanga believes her team is fully prepared.

“We have prepared very well. All departments are ready for this stage,” Nankwanga said.

“Every player is ready to give their all. We call upon everyone’s prayers and support — we promise to win the game.”

Kampala Queens, the FUFA Women Super League champions, face a tough test against Kenya Police Bullets, who finished second in their debut season and are determined to go further this year.

Bullets coach Beldine Odemba says her team is ready for the challenge.

“The mood is right, and the zeal of my team is good for the tournament,” Odemba noted.

“We’ve strengthened the squad with several new signings, including some from Uganda, and we’re taking one game at a time.”

The qualifiers bring together top women’s clubs from East and Central Africa, with the winner securing the region’s sole ticket to the prestigious continental tournament later this year.
