Following the inaugural CAF Impact Strategic Roundtable Workshop held at the Sheraton Hotel Kampala, Sarah Mukuna, the Director of Member Associations at the Confederation of African Football (CAF), expressed her satisfaction on behalf of CAF with the choices made by Member Associations concerning CAF grants.

While speaking to Media she said, “We see a change in African football, the way we look at the governance. We have made tremendous progress here, also at the CAF level and Member Associations. I am quite excited about what it can bring in how we can work together to make African football more transparent and accountable.”

The CAF IMPACT Programme Strategic Roundtable Workshop is an initiative aimed at enhancing transparency and accountability in the use of CAF development funds.

CAF has had an increasing trend of funding for different projects; for instance, $250,000 to $400,000 for member associations, and zones funding from $500,000 to $750,000, while clubs’ participation fees were doubled from $50,000 to $100,000.

All 54 member associations were represented by their top leaders in Presidents and General Secretaries at the workshop that took place on August 27.

The Workshop was organized on the sideline of the African Nations Championship which is ongoing in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda, as it is set to conclude on Saturday, August 30.
