The dates for the third edition of CAF Women’s Champions League have been confirmed today by the African football governing body, CAF.
The biggest club football tournament in Africa will take place between 05-19 November, 2023 in Côte d’Ivoire.
In the quest for a place in this year’s competition, Kampala Queens FC will represent Uganda in the regional qualifiers which will be played between 12th and 30th August 2023.
The winner of Zonal qualifiers, will represent East Africa in the final tournament of CAF Women’s Champions League in November this year in Côte d’Ivoire.
In the last campaign, East Africa was represented by Tanzanian giants Simba Queens FC who were eliminated at the semifinals stage.
Last year’s edition was hosted in Morocco and won by ASFAR from Morocco who defeated Mamelodi Sundowns in the finals.
The South African giants Mamelodi Sundowns lifted the inaugural title back in 2021 in Egypt.
The winner of this year’s tournament will pocket USD 400,000.
The CAF Women’s Champions League is the premier club competition in Africa for women’s football. The tournament is growing in popularity, and it is expected to be a major event in 2023.
