CECAFA Executive Director Auka Gecheo confirmed on Monday that the CECAFA U-18 Women’s Championship will take place from July 25th to August 7th in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
Initially the tournament was to take place on June 29th to July 11th in Nairobi, Kenya.
FUFA called off camp following uncertainty of the scheduled CECAFA U18 Women tournament that the team was preparing for and had been in camp since June 12, 2023 in preparation for the tournament.
The squad was named by head coach Ayub Khalifah, who has reduced the number of players from the initial 35-player squad, with Uganda Martyrs Lubaga Women Football Club striker Latifah Nakasi a notable absentee.
The final squad will be announced on July 18th, when the team enters camp at Cranes Paradise Hotel in Kisaasi.
The provisional squad is composed of four goalkeepers, seven defenders, eight midfielders and five strikers.
The summoned players will enter camp at Cranes Paradise Hotel, Kisaasi on Tuesday 18th July, 2023.
