Central Rhinos Book Place in Batball X Finals

Central Rhinos booked a place in the finals of the Batball X tournament after beating Eastern Buffalos by 43 runs in the final game of the Super 4 on Saturday.

The Rhinos entered this game well aware that to take part in Sunday’s final, they had to win this game.

They did just that as they made it two wins for themselves. The Rhinos had earlier beaten Rwanda Emerging by 5 runs, but that win was on a Duckworth-Lewis-Stern method owing to the rains that hit the city in the afternoon.

Against Buffalos, Anas Baig hit a half century of 67. Team captain Christopher Kidega scored 32 off 16 balls but Yunusu Sowobi bossed the field. The medium pacer notched a fifer as Rhinos ensured to keep their net run rate higher than Nile Leopards.

Leopards also had two wins in the bag, but their inferior net run rate denies them a spot in the final.

Rhinos will contest that final against Rwanda Emerging on Sunday.

For a third place finish, Leopards will play against Eastern Buffalos who were unable to win a single game during the Super 4.
