Challengers Top the Table After 59-Run Win Over Wanderers

Aneef Sha Mohammed‘s half-century and three wickets helped Challengers Cricket Club to a 59-run win over Wanderers on Sunday in the National Men’s 50 Over League.

Sha scored 61 runs off 84 balls, while Suleiman Sharif and Kenneth Waiswa also contributed with 42 and 27 runs respectively. Waiswa also took three wickets, including the key scalp of Sadam Oyaga.

Wanderers bowlers Martin Akayezu and Tembo Zubair each took three wickets, but their side was unable to chase down the target of 235/9.

Aziz Damani Development Edges Ceylon Lions by 1 Run

At the Srenity Oval in Kamengo, Mukesh Makar‘s century helped Aziz Damani Development to a narrow 1-run win over Ceylon Lions in a thrilling contest on Sunday.

Makar scored 111 runs off 123 balls, while Robert Ajuna and Brian Masaba also made significant contributions with 46 and 24 runs respectively.

Ceylon Lions were led by Kenyan internationals Alex Obanda and Collins Obuya, who scored 84 and 45 runs respectively. However, their side fell short by one run in the chase of 261/6.

Nyakasura Beats Patidar by 54 Runs

In Lugogo, U-19 player Brian Asaba scored an unbeaten 164 runs to help Nyakasura to a 54-run win over Patidar on Sunday.

Asaba’s innings was the cornerstone of Nyakasura’s total of 289/9, while Kenneth Waiswa took three wickets for the home side.

Patidar were never in the hunt in the chase, and they were bowled out for 235/9.

The win was Nyakasura’s first this season and it takes them to the sixth position, three places away from the drop zone.
