Ahead of the African Nations Championships (CHAN), Uganda Cranes midfield prodigy Travis Mutyaba is a man engrossed in confidence and optimism, foreseeing a successful tournament in Algeria.
“The team is balanced with a bit of experience and hunger. The older players in the team have been there before yet the younger ones are hungry to perform.”
“The coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevich has shown us absolute trust and the motivation (to perform) is there for every player,” the SC Villa maestro added.
Mutyaba will be playing at his first ever CHAN finals and he expects to put in the kind of shift that will leave a mark.
“I just want to give in my very best because this is the only way a player can repay the faith of the coach and the fans’ support.”
Micho’s charges will play four friendly matches in Tunisia against Mali, Sudan, Cameroon and Switzerland outfit Lausanne FC, before travelling to Algeria.
They are in Group B along with Ivory Coast, Senegal and Democratic Republic of Congo.
Uganda will open her campaign against DRC on January 14th, at the 19 May Stadium, Annaba.
