On Monday, August 4, Uganda hosted the first match of the 2024 CHAN where they lost 3-0 to Algeria.
After that match played at Namboole Stadium, Experienced Administrator Yusuf Kyeyune Kyuni said Uganda need to get a better organized football style of play to avoid heavy defeats.
Speaking to reporters in Kololo where he was presented with the Lifetime Achievement award by Real Stars sports agency on August 5, Kyuni said; “We failed to study the game properly, but our game should be structured in the way we play and instill it in players from an early age.
Kyuni entered the football service over fourty years ago as a player playing for teams like Buikwe Redstar, City Cubs, Wandegeya Cooperative and Express FC then later became an Organizer and worked for FUFA, SC Villa, Kampala District Football Associations and others.
After yesterday’s defeat, Uganda will play Guinea on Friday, August 8 at the Mandela National Stadium in Namboole.
Uganda is looking to go past the Africa Nations Championship group stage for the first time after failing to do so on all their past attempts.
Uganda is in Group C with Algeria, South Africa, Guinea and Niger and need to win their remaining three matches or two wins and a draw in Group C to qualify to the Quarterfinals.
