Ugandaโ€™s rising long distance star Rebecca Chelangat delivered a brilliant performance to win gold in the womenโ€™s 10,000 metres at the Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh, reaffirming her growing reputation on the international stage.

Under the bright lights of the Riyadh arena, Chelangat ran a calm, controlled race. 

She settled into the early pace, stayed patient, and then launched a strong push in the final kilometres. 

With her smooth stride and impressive endurance, she pulled clear of the field and crossed the line in 32:11.41.

Her victory adds another proud moment to Ugandaโ€™s long-distance running legacy, especially from the Sebei region.

It boosts the countryโ€™s medal tally and highlights the rising depth in Ugandaโ€™s womenโ€™s athletics.
