City Oilers booked their place in the National Basketball League playoffs with a convincing 93-58 win over JKL Dolphins on Friday night at Lugogo Indoor Arena.

Needing a win to stay alive, the eight-time champions wasted no time. They jumped to a 29-19 lead in the first quarter and never looked back. Benjamin Kawumi sparked the second quarter with back-to-back threes as the Oilers pulled away to an 18-point halftime lead.

The third quarter was all Oilers. They stretched the gap to 28 points, with Kawumi sinking another deep three at the buzzer. By full-time, the Oilers had wrapped up a dominant 35-point win.

Mer Maker led the way with 23 points, Kawumi added 19, and Fayed Baale chipped in 18. Rogers JB Dauna and Joseph Chuma also scored in double figures.

Despite the loss, JKL had bright moments from Kesseng Kesseng (16 points) and Benon Wobusobozi (13 points).

Coach Andrew Tendo will look to ride this momentum as the Oilers head into the playoffs chasing another title.
