City Oilers Diffuse Rockets & Enter Semifinals

The National Basketball League is into the business end, with defending champions proceeding to the semifinals.

Eight-time winners, City Oilers, came out strong to sweep and eliminate the Kampala Rockets, winning two games in a best-of-three series.

The Oilers ran riot on the Rockets to win the second game 121-70 behind a triple-double from Maker Mer Roor (14 points, 14 rebounds, 10 assists), a double-double for Titus Lual (22 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists) and an effective show from Ruai Luak (22 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists).

KIU Titans started their playoff run with a win, defeating KCCA 88-83 to take a 1-0 series lead.

The Kansanga-based team needed a strong 30-19 fourth-quarter run to shut down KCCA Panthers’ hopes.

Perennial participants, D-Mark Power, fell to a stubborn UCU Canons side, losing 53-58.

Our Savior took a 1-0 series lead on the Ndejje University Angels owing to a bullish 84-60 rout.
