City Oilers Basketball Club have moved quickly to reshape their squad as they plot a return to the top, confirming three new signings that signal clear intent.

Following the departures of Joseph Chuma and Moses Maker, the ten time champions have wasted little time in the market.

Familiarity leads the rebuild with the return of Landry Ndikumana, a player Oilers fans know well and one expected to bring composure and experience.

The Oilers have also added Joel Kayiira from UCU Canons and Joel “Banza” Lukoji from reigning champions Namuwongo Blazers.

Kayiira earned his move after strong performances with the university side, while Banza’s arrival from the Blazers adds spice, given last season’s fierce title battle.

These changes reflect a club eager to respond after falling short in the playoff final against Namuwongo Blazers, a defeat that ended their long grip on the National Basketball League crown.

With the Blazers already strengthening by signing Congolese forward Franck Fataki Nyembo, the Oilers are clearly determined to keep pace.

With the new NBL season set to tip off on February 6, 2026, City Oilers have laid down an early marker.
