The City Tyres East Africa Badminton Challenge has witnessed a significant surge in participation for its 7th edition.

Held at Lugogo Indoor Arena in Uganda, the tournament attracted a record-breaking 1505 entries from across East Africa, including Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, and other neighboring countries.

Compared to the previous year’s 900 participants, the substantial increase in entries demonstrates the growing popularity and impact of the event. The competition features categories for both male and female players, ranging from juniors to seniors, corporates, and veterans (over 40).

City Tyres, a leading brand under the Mandela Group of Companies, has been a major driving force behind the tournament’s success.

The company’s Marketing Manager, Herbert Bashasha, expressed his delight in supporting the development of badminton in Uganda and East Africa.

“We’ve seen players rise through the ranks of this challenge and achieve international success, bringing pride to Uganda,” said Bashasha.

The City Tyres East Africa Badminton Challenge is a four-day event that will conclude on October 20th, 2024. Winners in each category will receive prizes from the Mandela Group of Companies.
