This publisher can confirm that the celebrated Ugandan basketball mind, Brian Wathum, has parted ways with the basketball outfit KCCA Panthers.
“With a heavy heart, I can say this (leaving KCCA) is very true. The last 2 years coaching KCCA Basketball were eye-opening and enlightening.”
“I definitely grew as a coach and a person in general. Memories collected were priceless & I wish the Panthers all the best going forward,” coach Brian commented on X (formerly Twitter).
His last games in charge of the KCCA Panthers were against the KIU Titans, the team he coached before moving to KCCA in 2021. The Titans swept the Panthers 2-0 in a best-of-3 quarterfinal matchup in the NBL playoffs.
Coach Brian Wathum is now an unrestricted free agent who is expected to be off the market pretty soon owing to his knowledge of the Ugandan game.
