  • Lugazi vs Buhimba United Saints โ€“ Lugazi FC stadium, Najjembe 4pm
  • NEC vs BUL โ€“ Phillip Omondi stadium, Lugogo 8pm

Itโ€™s not often one coach headlines two different teams in the same game week, but for Badru Kaddu, Saturday brings exactly that.

Just days after leading Express FC to a 4โ€“1 win over Mbarara City on Wednesday night, Kaddu will be back in the dugout, this time as NEC FCโ€™s new head coach.

His debut comes against BUL FC at the Phillip Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.

Kaddu replaces Hussein Mbalangu, who was sacked midweek, and has had only two training sessions with his new squad.

The quick turnaround adds a rare twist to his week, managing two different teams in one matchday cycle, a first in Ugandan football this season.

For NEC, the timing of his arrival is crucial. The team heads into the clash fresh from a morale-boosting 1โ€“0 win over Mbarara City, a result that steadied their campaign after a shaky start.

Now, all eyes are on how fast Kaddu can impose his philosophy with limited preparation.

Assistant coach James Odoch, who handled NECโ€™s last two games, believes Kadduโ€™s experience will count.

โ€œKaddu is a very professional coach and a great addition to our staff,โ€ Odoch said.

โ€œHe has already set clear expectations for the players. BUL are strong, but weโ€™ll give them a real fight.โ€

Across the technical area, BUL head coach Abbey Kikomeko knows NECโ€™s threat all too well.

His Jinja-based side has yet to beat NEC in any competition, a streak heโ€™s eager to end.

โ€œThey always give us a tough game,โ€ Kikomeko admitted.

โ€œI know Kaddu well, but I donโ€™t expect major changes in their setup. Still, weโ€™re determined to get our first win over them.โ€

NEC will be without Warren Bbule, Jacob Okao, Innocent Media, Cromwell Rwothomio, and Daniel Shabena, all sidelined with injuries.

BULโ€™s only absentee is Musiima, leaving Kikomeko with a more settled lineup.

NEC are unbeaten against BUL in all competitions (W2, D4), though BUL remain unbeaten in the 2025 Uganda Premier League.

As Kaddu begins a new chapter, Lugogo braces for a fascinating evening of football, one where experience meets adaptation, and a coachโ€™s rare double duty takes center stage.

Earlier in the day, Lugazi FC and Buhimba FC will clash in Lugazi, both desperate to bounce back from consecutive defeats.
