The Ethiopian giants Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE) will face Uganda’s representatives Kampala Queens FC in a do-or-die match on Friday evening at FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru.

CBE FC need a win to advance to the semifinals of the CAF Women’s Champions League CECAFA Qualifiers, while a loss for Kampala Queens FC will mathematically knock them out of the tournament.

CBE FC currently top Group A with 6 points from 2 games, while Kampala Queens FC, Buja Queens FC and Yei Joint Stars are all on 3 points.

The top two teams from the group will advance to the semifinals of the championship joining already qualified JKT Queens and Vihiga Queens.

Kampala Queens FC head coach Charles Ssenyange is aware of the tough challenge that CBE FC will pose, but he is confident that his team can get the result they need.

” The only mentality we have is to fight foot and nail because it’s a do and die. All the players are focused and everybody in the camp is gelling well.”

“We are injury free so it is just a matter of kick off.” He said in the pre-match interview.

The tactician is expected to make some changes to his lineup, with Elizabeth Nakigozi likely to start after scoring a consolation goal as a substitute in the last game.

The winner of the CAF Women’s Champions League CECAFA Qualifiers will represent the CECAFA region in the CAF Women’s Champions League in Ivory Coast, which will be played between 5th-19th November this year.
