Fresh off a 3-0 win over Guinea, the Uganda Cranes return to Namboole on Monday, August 11, for a do-or-die African Nations Championship (CHAN) match against Niger.

The task is clear, win, and Uganda keeps its quarterfinal hopes alive. If Guinea also slip against South Africa in the earlier kickoff, the Cranes could even top the group.

Coach Morley Byekwaso knows the stakes.

“This game means a lot. We may tweak a few things, but the solid core will stay,” he said.

“The crowd against Guinea was incredible. We respect them and promise our best. This match decides our fate.”

Niger, beaten 1-0 by Guinea in their opener, are desperate to respond. Coach Harouna Doulla admits Ugandan fans can be intimidating but insists his team will not be rattled.

“We must fix our mistakes, focus, and fight. The fans are loud, but we’ll handle it and write a new story,” he said.
