Uganda’s Cricket Cranes are flying high in the Pearl of Africa Cricket series after they claimed two crucial victories in two days, first dominating Nigeria by 77 runs (DLS method) on Friday, then holding off the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in a tense six-run win on Saturday at the Lakeside Oval in Entebbe.

Batting first against UAE, Uganda posted 126/9. Shrideep Mangela steadied the innings with 39 off 38, while Raghav Dhawan added 44. Alpesh Ramjani’s quickfire 21* off 12 balls gave the score a late lift.

UAE responded with a solid start, Muhammad Waseem made 33 and Zohaib Zubair added 24 but Uganda’s bowlers tightened the screws.

Miyaji’s 3 for 28, backed by Dinesh Nakrani’s 2 for 22 and Ramjani’s 1 for 17, choked the chase. UAE fell short at 120/8, undone by tight bowling and two sharp run-outs.

On Friday, Uganda were clinical against Nigeria. A complete team effort powered them to a commanding 77-run win. Every department clicked and confidence showed.

Miyaji’s leadership has been key. He’s won the tosses, made gutsy calls, and delivered with the ball when it mattered most. His spell against UAE broke their middle order and changed the game.

Uganda now sit unbeaten alongside Namibia A. After a rest day Sunday, they’ll face Kenya on Monday, July 21.
