- Uganda won by 6 wickets
Uganda’s Cricket Cranes returned from a two-day break with fresh energy, beating Kenya by six wickets in the Migingo Derby at the Lakeside Oval on Friday morning.
The victory completed a double over their East African rivals and Uganda is set for the final game against the UAE.
After winning the toss, Uganda chose to bowl and restricted Kenya to 124/8 in 20 overs. Cosmas Kyewuta and Juma Miyaji took two wickets each, while Frank Nsubuga, Dinesh Nakrani, and Alpesh Ramjani chipped in with one apiece.
Miyaji’s early spell was especially sharp, removing Pushkar Sharma and Tanzeel Sheikh.
Rakep Patel top-scored for Kenya with 37 off 36 balls, but regular wickets and tight fielding including a key run-out of Jasraj Kundi, kept their innings in check.
In response, Uganda chased down the target in 18.1 overs, finishing at 125/4. Raghav Dhawan steadied the innings with 32 off 46 balls, before Nakrani (23*) and Miyaji (18*) finished the job.
Opener Shrideep Mangela set the tone early with two boundaries before falling for 14.
The Cranes now turn their focus to their final game against UAE, set to take place later on Sunday afternoon at the same venue.
