Match Day three of Uganda’s tour of Zimbabwe ended with the Cricket Cranes once again coming out as victors following their 41-run win over Takashinga on Wednesday.

The Cricket Cranes beat Takashinga by 2 runs and 6 wickets respectively in their opening two games, and were on the good side of the result once again on Wednesday.

Henry Ssenyondo and Dinesh Nakrani were the top players in this games as both picked four wickets.

Takashinga managed to restrict Uganda to just 144/8, but thanks to the duo, Takashinga could only manage 103 in their chase.

Jonathan Ssebanja was decent with the ball as well. The all rounder who only made a return to the national team fold in August during the East Africa Cup T20 in Rwanda after a two-year absence credited his name with two wickets, both coming in his first Over.

Alpesh Ramjani with the bat scored 51 not out while youngster Robinson Obuya got 40 off 38.

Roger Mukasa hasn’t hit the ground running in this series. Mukasa was dismissed with only five to his name.

Ronak Patel won the Player of the Match in the first game with his half ton of 78, but was ducked in this game after facing just one ball.

Nonetheless, Uganda were once again able to win comfortably, and the team coach, Jackson Ogwang insists his team is winning not because of the quality of the opponent, but because they have shown “desire and are playing really well.”

The Cricket Cranes will take a break on Thursday, and will return to action on Friday against Zimbabwe’s U25 select side.

The purpose of this tour is to fine tune the team for the upcoming World Cup Qualifier that bowls off on 22nd November in Windhoek, Namibia.
