Uganda’s Cricket Cranes made it two wins in a row over Nigeria, claiming a 38-run victory in the Pearl of Africa T20 Series on Tuesday to maintain invincible status at Lakeside Oval in Entebbe.
After winning the toss, Uganda chose to bat and posted 147 for 6 in 20 overs. Shrideep Mangela led with a calm 51 off 42 balls, supported by Raghav Dhawan (22), Cyrus Kakuru (21*), and Alpesh Ramjani (13). Despite early pressure, Uganda kept the scoreboard ticking.
The match was extra special for debutants Calvin Watuwa and Innocent Mwebaze, who brought fresh energy to the squad.
Nigeria never settled in their chase. Isaac Okpe (26*) and Prosper Useni (17) offered late resistance, but it wasn’t enough.
Dinesh Nakrani starred with the ball, taking 3 for 11 in 3 overs. He was backed up by Joseph Baguma (3/32) and Juma Miyaji (2/19), as Nigeria folded for 109 in 18.1 overs.
Uganda now enjoys a rest day on Wednesday before facing Kenya on Friday July 25th. Uganda A will take on Namibia A on Wednesday.
