Team Uganda has announced its squad for the inaugural 2025 ICC Women’s Emerging Nations Trophy, set for November 18 to December 1 in Thailand.

The tournament will bring together eight of the world’s top emerging women’s cricket nations, marking a major milestone for the women’s game globally.

Led by Captain Janet Mbabazi and Head Coach Dues Muhumuza, Uganda’s side blends experience, youthful energy, and ambition as they prepare to face the best associate teams in the world.

Among the key inclusions is Teddy Oyella, who keeps her place after impressing in the recent Victoria Series last game against Canada collecting 4 wickets and conceding just 12 runs.

Though she featured in only one match, her discipline in training and composure on the field earned her a spot in the traveling squad.

Youngsters Malisa Ariokot and Irene Mutonyi also make their return after missing the series due to school commitments, strengthening the batting and bowling department respectively with their skill.

In-form bowler Kevin Amuge retains her position after a standout season, continuing her rise since debuting at the 2025 Kwibuka Tournament in Rwanda.

Her growing confidence with the ball that earned her the Victoria series best bowler has been one of Uganda’s biggest positives this year.

Having not featured much during the Global qualifiers in Namibia, this will be another bigger stage to display her skill set.

The squad also features familiar names Kevin Awino, Ritah Musamali, Immaculate Nakisuuyi, Proscovia Alako, and Consy Aweko, who bring valuable experience and leadership to the group.

Head Coach Dues Muhumuza will lead his army, supported by Assistant Coach Brian Masaba, Team Psychologist Edgar Kazibwe, Physiotherapist Imam Tugume, and Team Manager Lelia Namaganda Ondeko, whose expertise continues to drive Uganda’s progress in women’s cricket from the top.
