David Obua, the newly appointed coach of URA FC, has vowed to restore the club to its former glory. Obua, who signed a one-year deal with the Tax Collectors, said he is aware of the expectations of the fans and management, and he is determined to deliver.
“I’m grateful to the management for giving me this opportunity,” Obua said.
“I know it’s a new field for me, but I am confident in my abilities. I have acquired a lot of experience, both as a player and a coach, and I believe this will help me to succeed at URA FC.”
Obua said his immediate goal is to organize a competitive team. He also stressed the importance of teamwork and unity.
“Football has changed and it’s now more tactical than ever before,” Obua said.
“I have a good squad of players, some of whom I have followed and known for a long time. I am here to make sure that everyone is on the same page and working towards the same goal.”
Obua also cautioned the players that they need to work hard and be disciplined.
“I expect the players to work together as a team, not as individuals,” Obua said.
“I have a lot of experience, and I have put a lot of effort into my studies. I want to impact the club both on and off the field.”
Obua will be assisted by Peter Byaruhanga Adyeri as first assistant coach, Fred Muhumuza (2nd Assistant Coach), Robert Mukasa (3rd Assistant Coach), Ilic Milos (Fitness Coach), Byron Okuba (Strength and conditioning Coach), Swaibu Ssebagala (Goalkeeping Coach), Joseph Lubega (Doctor), Isaac Ngondwe (Physio), Luggya Ronald (Kits Manager), and Bosco Otim (Assistant Kits Manager).
