- Avengers CC 144/10 (Christopher Kidega 46, Timothy Kawanguzi 26; Eric Mukisa 4/30)
- Wanderers CC 99/10 ( Julius Okema 22; Joshi Yashashvi 6/19)
Avengers CC won by 45 runs
Avengers Cricket Club finally got their moment, beating Wanderers by 45 runs to secure their first win in the Cricket Uganda Men’s 50 Over League Silver Group on Sunday at Lakeside Oval, Entebbe.
It wasn’t a perfect innings, but it was enough. Avengers struggled early, losing two quick wickets with barely any runs on the board.
Timothy Kawanguzi (26) tried to settle things, but Wanderers kept the pressure on. The innings came alive through Christopher Kidega, whose quick 46 off 40 balls gave Avengers something to fight with.
Atul Rana added 20, helping push the total to 144 in 35.2 overs. Wanderers looked in control, with Eric Mukisa picking up four wickets, but the target remained within reach.
Then the game flipped. Avengers came out sharp with the ball, and Yashashvi Joshi led the charge.
His spell of 6 for 19 broke the backbone of Wanderers’ chase. He struck regularly, never allowing the batters to settle.
Mandeep Singh (20) and Okema Julius (22) showed some resistance, but once wickets started falling, Wanderers lost their way. From a steady position, they collapsed quickly under pressure.
Joshi kept striking, Hariom Dudharejiya added two wickets, and the rest of the attack stayed tight. Wanderers were bowled out for 99 in 24.3 overs.
From Avengers’ point of view, this was a sign of what they can do when it clicks.
Elsewhere, Soroti Cricket Club beat SKLPS by 20 runs in another Silver Group game.

In the Gold Group, Ceylon Lions and Mukono Warriors also picked up their first wins, beating JACC and Aboojo Cricket Club respectively.
