FUFA Super 8

  • BUL FC 0-0 Maroons FC

Defending FUFA Super 8 champions BUL FC began their title defense with a goalless draw against Maroons FC in the first leg of the quarterfinals at Nakivubo Stadium on Thursday.

The Eastern Giants struggled to break down the resilient Prison Warders in a tight contest that produced few clear chances.

Both sides lacked creativity in the final third, resulting in a frustrating stalemate.

The FUFA Super 8, a pre-season tournament for last season’s top eight Uganda Premier League teams, gives clubs a chance to prepare for the new campaign.

BUL handed a debut to goalkeeper Farouk Yawe, while Maroons introduced forward Ronald Ssempala as both coaches tested new signings.

The two sides will meet again after next month’s international break in the decisive return leg, with a semifinal spot at stake.
