Just a month after stepping down as Club President, Deo Kasozi is back at Kitara Football Club in a new role, Chief Community Resource Mobiliser. His two-year term started on August 19, 2025.
Kasozi, who led the Hoima-based side for three years before resigning in July, will now focus on mobilizing resources, building partnerships, and strengthening Kitara’s ties with supporters and the wider Bunyoro region.
The Board of Directors welcomed his return, calling it a timely boost. “His experience and commitment to the community will play a major role in driving the club forward,” the Board said in a statement.
For Kasozi, this comeback is more about service than titles. As president, he helped transform Kitara into more than just a football team, it became a cultural emblem for the people of Hoima. His new role will channel that bond into long-term sustainability for the club.
The appointment also comes at a key moment as Kitara works to balance success on the pitch with its role as a unifying force in the community. The club believes Kasozi’s leadership will strengthen that mission.
With his familiar face back in the fold, the challenge for Kasozi is clear, turn the passion of Kitara’s loyal fans into lasting support that keeps the club thriving.
