Dominant Kibuli SS eliminates Kololo SS from FUFA TV Cup at Round of 32

Kibuli SS dominated the entire return leg game to write off Kololo SS in the FUFA TV Cup at the Round of 32.

The match was played at Kibuli SS on Saturday 2nd August forward Devis Nsubuga was one of the leading leading performers with two headed goals adding to David Wacha’s goal in the first half.

Other players who shown outstanding performances was Midfielder Walidi Barigye, Right back Ashiraf Musa and winger Ramadhan Matovu.

In the first match, Kibuli SS visited Kololo SS and this time Kibuli SS hosted and finished with home and away wins.

Isaac Muwonge, scored the only goal of the first leg to give Kibuli SS a solid foundation which stood instrumental in advancing to the round of 16.

After the match, Kibuli SS assistant coach Hassan Ttembo Insingoma expressed satisfaction.

“We are happy that our boys used courage to get us to the round of 16, last year was our first FUFA TV cup appearance, we won at Old Kampala and they came and beat us here, we were highly embarrassed. this time our players have been listening starting with the our first game against Old Kampala and we have managed to reach this stage for our first time.”

He added that; “When we go to Gulu we have high hopes that we will honor our fans reputation and protect the honor of Kibuli SS as it is one of the strongest schools in football.”

Kololo SS coach Bruno Ssegirinya also said; “They beat us because they are more experienced than us, the level has been slightly high and the standard we have set. It gives us hope that next time we have something to build on, our kids have got the chance to play and understand how competitive football.

“We thank FUFA for bringing this opportunity and also donating some equipment such as jerseys and footballs, we as Kololo SS it gives us the opportunity to revive ourselves in the game of football and we will work to bring Kololo SS where it was known.”

In the round of 16, Kibuli joined Mengo SS who defeated Namilyango College and Kako SS who also defeated Gombe SS 2-1 away in Butambala and then joined after winning 3-1 on aggregate.

All the teams in the final 16 will meet at St Joseph’s College Layibi in Gulu to play the tournament until the winner of the third season in the history of the tournament will be crowned in September.
