The Victoria Pearls followed their win against Zimbabwe with a dominating victory against Omtex ICWC SR on Thursday.
The side coached by Lawrence Ssematimba beat the hosts by 6 wickets to register their second win in India where they are holding a preparatory camp ahead of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Global Qualifiers due in April in Dubai.
The Victoria Pearls lost to the same side on Saturday in their opening game in India, but they were able to even the score in what was their fourth game.
The game was mainly dominated by bowlers. Sarah Walaza, especially, shone in that regard with her economy of 1.00.
Walaza, who replaced Evelyn Anyipo in opening the bowling, bowled all her Overs but conceded only 4 runs and came out with three wickets. She was also one of the only two players who registered a maiden.
The duo of Sarah Akiteng and team captain Consy Aweko also turned up with three wickets each as the Victoria Pearls restricted their opponents to a paltry 67/9.
Despite Gloria Obukor who notched a half-century against Zimbabwe on Tuesday falling in the second Over, Uganda was in full control of the game.
Immaculate Nakisuyi who opened with Obukor faced 22 balls and returned 21 runs. She was backed up by Esther Iloku (10), Janet Mbabazi (11) and Rita Musamali 12 not out.
The Victoria Pearls will play their last game on Friday against MCA before their departure the next day.
They will jet in, in the country on Sunday awaiting the trip to Accra, Ghana for the African Games.
Uganda alongside seven other nations will inaugurate cricket at the African Games. The Victoria Pearls are placed in Group B together with Zimbabwe, and neighbors Kenya and Rwanda.
They will get that campaign underway against Kenya on 7th March.
