Dr. Azar Taibu has been appointed as the second Vice President to increase the number of women on the FUFA Executive Committee.
Taibu came in to fill the void left since the demise of Late Darius Mugoye.
After being added to the EXCOM, she said; “I am confident that the president had a positive feeling in appointing me. He trusts my qualities and skills. Replacing the late Darius is not a simple issue, but I believe in myself that I will manage.”
Taibu, on EXCOM, joined the FUFA third Vice President Honorable Florance Nakiwala Kiyingi in charge of Uganda Premier League clubs and Agnes Mugena as the only women on EXCOM.
Taibu is one of the new members of the FUFA EXCOM along with Deo Mutabaazi and Ronald Barente, while Samuel Mpiima and Richard Ochom are the members who didn’t return.
The resolution was reached at the 101st FUFA Assembly held at Hoima Resort Hotel in Hoima City.
The same Assembly approved Moses Magogo Hashim as FUFA President for the fourth term, continuing the journey started in 2013.
The Assembly also decided to increase the number of Executive Committee Members from 15 to 17 letting the new two positions pending.
