Dr. Stone Luggya has returned to the role of Chairperson of the Kampala Old Boys (KOBs) Rugby Football Club.
Dr. Stone was up for re-election for a second term against the outspoken Rutayisire Claude, who had just organized the largely successful URU 2023 awards.
Stone collected 85 votes, against Claude’s 80 in a hotly contested election.
“This is not the Chairman’s club, but our club. This election cycle is behind us. We need to come together for the betterment of KOBs,” said Dr Stone after being declared winner.
“The real work starts now. There’s the urgent need to have the club registered and incorporated as a company with URSB and that starts with amending our constitution to something modern and beneficial to all of us.”
“We had elections and they have ended. We do not want camps in KOBs. If I’m requested to support in any other aspect, I will. I’m not here to oppose any one,” remarked Claude while conceding defeat to Dr Stone.
In the other roles, Darren Rutagwera is the Vice Chairperson of the Kampala Old Boys (KOBs) RFC having beaten Timothy ” Kapaps” Kabonero to the position with 97 votes against 73.
“Thank you to all members of Kobs Rugby Club for your support and confidence in electing me as Vice Chairman. I’m honoured and excited for this opportunity to serve the club. Looking forward to working together to achieve great things,” remarked Darren.
Ms Muriel Atai Aloka is the new treasurer for KOBs RFC, tallying 91 votes against Fabiano Atwooki‘s 73.
