As Uganda’s athletes finalize preparations for the 2025 World Athletics Championships, long-distance runner Tom Dradriga has called on the government to provide more recognition and support.
“We work hard to qualify and raise Uganda’s flag, yet we don’t get the support footballers do,” Dradriga said, reflecting the frustrations of many in the team.
Despite winning medals and performing on the international stage, athletes say their efforts are often overlooked.
The national squad has spent the past two months training at Trinity Biblical Institute, refining their form before departing on September 10.
