In the 2025 Inter-Parliamentary Games, Mbarara City South Member of Parliament, Honorable Mwine Mpaka Rwamirama, was a star as Uganda thumped Kenya 48-34.

In the game played at Lugogo Indoor Arena, Uganda started strong, propelled by the pride of Mbarara City South, leading 10-0 in the first 5 minutes.

Later in the first quarter, Kenya’s Parliament tried to bounce back by scoring 6 points when Honorable Mpaka was off the court. The first quarter ended 10-6. In the second quarter, Uganda again started brighter, but Kenya was always quick to respond.

The game went into halftime with Uganda leading 24-14, winning the quarter 14-8, fueled by the return of Honorable Mpaka to the court despite Kenya having two 3-pointers.

Uganda continued to win the third quarter 14-8 before Kenya denied them a clean sweep by winning the fourth quarter 16-10.

While Mpaka served more as a dominant player and converted 10 points, Bosco Okiror stood out statistically, recording 10 points and 11 defensive rebounds, while Power Forward Emmanuel Omoding Okabe of Serere County was the game’s top scorer for Uganda with 11 points.

Meanwhile, for Kenya, Senator Allan Kiprotich Chesang topped point scoring with 9, while Honorable Caleb Mutiso Mule of Machakos Town and Honorable Dancan Maina of Nyeri Town tied in picking up rebounds at 7 each.
