Kenya’s Members of Parliament showed their strength in Tug of War on Monday, overpowering hosts Uganda in both the men’s and women’s contests at the ongoing 15th East African Community Inter-Parliamentary Games at Lugogo Cricket Oval in Kampala.
In the men’s category, Kenya pulled Uganda 2–0 in under two minutes, inspired by Busia County MP Hon. Rafael Wanjala, who praised his team’s preparation and promised they would defend their crown.

Uganda fielded a spirited lineup including Hon. Moses Kabuusu, Hon. William Ndoli Museveni and Hon. Dr. Timothy Batuwa Lusala, but Kenya proved too powerful on the rope.
The women’s clash played out in similar fashion as Kenya again won 2–0. Uganda quickly bounced back, beating EALA 2–0 for their first victory of the event.

Kenya also defeated South Sudan 2–0, while South Sudan replied with a 2–0 result against EALA as the round robin format heated up.
Uganda’s efforts are guided by coach Andrew Ssemaganda, with home fans providing plenty of encouragement at Lugogo.
Action resumes on Thursday, 11 December, with Tug ofWar running alongside volleyball, football, netball, athletics, golf, basketball and darts.
The Games, officially opened on 6 December, run until 17 December and will close with a colorful ceremony in Kampala.
