Uganda Lady Cranes 7s have named a seasoned 12-player squad brimming with experience and flair for this weekend’s Safari 7s tournament in Nairobi.

With star player Peace Lekuru unavailable, veteran forward Agnes Nakuya takes over the captaincy, assisted by Lydia Namabiro, as Uganda aims to maintain its growing dominance on the regional stage.

The team blends experience with youthful energy.

Yvonne Najjuma returns to the senior ranks after impressing with the Emerging Lady Cranes last year, while Comfort Anganyika, the National 7s Series top scorer, earns a well-deserved call-up.

She links up with her Thunderbirds teammates Sandra Lona Amoli and Janat Nandudu, both consistent performers in the local circuit.

Versatile forward Grace Nabaggala also returns, adding strength and adaptability to a powerful pack that includes Fazira Namukwaya, Suzan Adong, Nakuya, Namabiro, and Najjuma.

In the backs, Uganda boasts speed and creativity. Scrumhalves Sandra Amoli and Juliet Nandawula will direct play, while Tina Akello anchors both attack and defense.

Racheal Mufuwa and Anganyika are expected to provide the finishing spark, with Nandudu offering her trademark footwork and stepping in for kicking duties.

With a well-balanced mix of experience and emerging talent, the Lady Cranes 7s are ready to make a strong statement at the Safari 7s.
