After a three-week hiatus due to a suspension imposed by FUFA following an attack by a section of their fans on assistant referee Fahad Ssekayiba, Express FC returns to action determined to extend their winning streak against Wakiso Giants on Friday.
The Red Eagles, who are on the back of consecutive away victories against KCCA and Busoga United, are confident in their ability to overcome Wakiso Giants, a team that has struggled with inconsistency throughout the season.
Express FC coach James Odoch is confident that his team has prepared adequately for the challenge ahead.
“After a long break, I believe we have prepared enough,” Odoch stated. “We need to take this game seriously and seek revenge for our loss at their home ground. We will give it our all.”
“We miss our key player Ramsey Kawooya, but the available squad will do the job.”
Wakiso Giants, currently sitting second from bottom in the league table, will be eager to secure a victory to boost their standings.
Coach John Luyinda has called on his players to rise to the occasion. “We need to show character as a team,”
“Express is a good team, but we have also prepared ourselves well,” Luyinda emphasized.
When the two sides faced off last season, Wakiso Giants beat Express 3-2 in Wakiso before they settled for 1-all draw at Wankulukuku.
