Uganda Hippos forward Alpha Thierry Ssali will for the first time, play in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League after securing a move to Express FC.

After exiting boyhood club Proline FC over the weekend, Ssali has joined the Red Eagles on a two-year contract.

He is son to Moses Ssali alias Bebe Cool and thus, the move could prove worthy for the seven-time league champions, as the reknown musician comes with a following.

Bebe Cool also serves as Alpha Thierry’s manager, and will certainly be an ever-present face at the Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku in trainings and match-days.

The club won the league and the CECAFA Kagame Cup in the 2021/22 campaign under coach Wasswa Bbosa, but have since failed to regain their mojo.

Administrative woes and changes haven’t done them any favors either: Club chairman Kiryowa Kiwanuka was replaced by his brother Suubi Kiwanuka, while new CEO Ashiraf Miiro took over from Isaac Mwesigwa.
