Express FC coach Alex Isabirye has not been taken away by his side’s victory over Vipers in the Uganda Premier League on Saturday.

Though the Red Eagles beat Vipers 2-0 at Wankulukuku, Isabirye feels there is still a lot to do.

“We are happy that we won but I believe there is still a lot to do. I’m a competitor and I want to see Express in the same bracket. When you look at the time I have been at the club I feel there has been an improvement,” noted Isabirye.

A goal from Isma Kawawulo and Isaac Wagoina in either half saw Express register back-to-back wins. Earlier they had been NEC 5-2 at Lugogo.

Despite beating his former side in Vipers, Isabirye revealed he was not happy about that but rather he was lucky.

“I don’t want to say that am happy about it since I don’t have anything against Vipers. I’m lucky that I managed to get a result from a good team like Vipers. My focus is to see how we win our last two games before the first round comes to an end,” he added.

The result saw Vipers drop to fourth on the standings with 24 points, eight below table leaders BUL. Kitara and Maroons who humbled Gaddafi 5-0 are second and third with 26 and 25 points respectively. Express is ninth with 19 points.

Vipers have gone to three games without a win. Earlier they settled to a one-all draw against Maroons and thereafter they lost to BUL 3-2 in a match that saw coach Leonard Neiva sacked plus some of his assistants.

Richard Wasswa one of the assistants at Vipers and was in charge of the team at Wankulukuku feels they need to improve.

“We didn’t do enough. But we shall try to see that we improve in our next games,” noted Wasswa.
