Express makes it three wins in four games

Forward Alpha Ssali scored the only goal as Express defeated Soltilo Bright Stars 1-0 at Wankulukuku stadium to register their third consecutive victory in the Uganda Premier League.

Ssali son of musician Moses Ssali commonly known as Bebe Cool powered his shot past goalkeeper Derrick Were after Bright Stars failed to take away the ball.

Defensive midfielder Ramsey Kawooya who was the man of the match revealed that they managed to live up to the task because of trust from the technical team.

“The coaches believe in us and this has helped us to perform as a team. It feels good that we have three wins in four games and the other being a point we picked in the first game. We shall continue to play to our expectations,” noted Kawooya.

Express now are third on the table standings with 10 points while BUL and Kitara are top and second with 12 points each.

However, Bright Stars coach Joseph Mutyaba believes they failed to utilize their chances.

“We had the chances to score but we failed to utilize them. But this is a league, we shall improve with time,” noted Muhumuza.

In Lugazi, URA defeated Wakiso Giants 1-0 at Metha stadium.

Forward Ivan Ahimbisibwe scored the only goal and coach Fred Muhumuza was impressed with the performance of his team.

“We missed a lot of chances which failed to utilize. But what mattered is that we won the game and we can build on this in our next games,” noted Muhumuza.
