The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) successfully launched the third edition of its Football Administration and Management Course (FAMACO) on Thursday at Jevine Hotel in Ndeeba.
Over 40 participants from various football professions, including refereeing, administration, and journalism, attended the course. Among them was Geoffrey Mugabi, a reporter for Nnalubaale Sports.
Mr. Ronnie Kalema, FUFA Executive Committee Member and Executive Secretary of Football Development, graced the event as the chief guest and officially launched the program. He shared exciting news for the women in the course.
“I’m delighted to announce that the Program Coordinator for the Private Sector Foundation, Mrs. Dr. Ruth Biyinzika Kasolo, has generously covered the fees of one million six hundred seventy-eight thousand shillings (UGX 1,678,000) for each lady participant,” Kalema announced.
Kalema further revealed an exclusive opportunity for a top performer.
“I can also confirm that one outstanding student from this FAMACO edition will have the chance to collaborate with FUFA on the PAMOJA program for the AFCON 2027 tournament,” he said.
Kalema emphasized FUFA’s commitment to fostering footballing excellence.
“Our goal is to equip participants with a comprehensive understanding of football governance, business, and the sport itself. This will allow them to contribute to our vision of becoming the number one footballing nation in Africa, both on and off the field,” he concluded.
Course Structure and Benefits
The program will cover a wide range of football-related modules, providing participants with the necessary skills to succeed in the industry.
Throughout the years, FAMACO has empowered many individuals to find employment within football and contribute to the overall development of the sport across Uganda.
The FAMACO program will conclude in early July. Participants who successfully complete the course and pass the final exams will be awarded their graduation certificates.
