Fataki Nyembo is a Blazer and with that signing, the Namuwongo Blazers have made their intentions clear.
The champions are not ready to let go of the National Basketball League crown.
Days after losing fan favourite Joel “Banza” Lukoji to 10-time champions City Oilers, Namuwongo moved quickly to strengthen their squad, unveiling the Congolese forward as their first addition ahead of the new season.
Nyembo joins from Sommet, where he was one of the league’s standout performers last season.
He played a key role in their run to the playoff semifinals, before their journey ended at the hands of City Oilers.
From the opening tip of the campaign, Nyembo stood out for his blend of athleticism, versatility and scoring instinct.
As the season wore on, his influence only grew. In the second round, he emerged as arguably the league’s dominant force, averaging 18 points and 12 rebounds per game, numbers that spoke to his impact on both ends of the floor.
