Uganda U17 Boys’ National Team, the Cubs, have begun a ten-day training camp in Dubai as they fine-tune preparations for their historic first appearance at the FIFA U17 World Cup, set for November 3–27 in Qatar.

The team left Uganda on Monday and will take part in the Dubai Youth Challenge, a mini-tournament featuring three international friendlies aimed at boosting their readiness for the global stage.

According to FUFA, the Cubs will face Venezuela, Panama, and Paraguay during their stay in Dubai.

“The Uganda U17 Men’s National Team is participating in international friendly matches in the United Arab Emirates as part of preparations for the FIFA U17 World Cup Qatar 2025,” FUFA confirmed in a statement.

The Cubs play Venezuela on Thursday, October 23, Panama on Sunday, October 26, and wrap up against Paraguay on Tuesday, October 28.

The matches will offer valuable international exposure for the young squad as they gear up to compete against the world’s best football academies.

Uganda is placed in Group K alongside France, Chile, and Canada, a challenging but exciting draw for the World Cup debutants.

Uganda will open their campaign on November 5 against Canada, before facing Chile and France.
