2025 FIFA U17 Boys World Cup
- Uganda Vs France – 3:30 pm
Uganda Cubs held their final training session at Al Thumama Stadium on Monday evening, fully focused on Tuesday’s decisive Group K match against France at the Aspire Zone Pitch 3.
With just one point from two games, a 2-1 loss to Canada and a 1-1 draw with Chile, the young Cubs must win to keep their tournament hopes alive.
France, unbeaten with a win over Chile and draw with Canada, head into the fixture full of confidence.
But for Uganda, led by head coach Brian Ssenyondo, this is a battle of belief and determination.
“Tomorrow is a must-win,” Ssenyondo said after training.
“You win, you stay; you lose, you go home. We have to risk everything.”
Despite facing one of the tournament favorites, Ssenyondo remains optimistic.
“France is a big team, but we are a big team too. The pressure is there, but it drives us. We know what’s at stake, and I believe we’ll get the result we need.”
Midfielder Jovan Mukisa, who has featured in both of Uganda’s opening matches, says the team has learned from their earlier challenges.
“The experience from playing Canada and Chile has prepared us,” Mukisa said.
“France might be different, but we can still compete and put up a strong fight.”
