FIFA U17 WWCQ: Teen Cranes Out To Eliminate Cameroon

The Uganda U17 Women National Team, the Teen Cranes, are in action this evening at 5PM against Cameroon in the second leg of the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup Qualifier at Stade de Ngoa-Ekellé,Yaounde.

The squad that traveled on Wednesday morning had 17 players, from which head coach Sherly Botes Ulanda will chose the team that will execute the work.

Uganda will need a win or a draw of more than one goal to advance after the two teams playing to a 1-all draw in the first leg last Saturday at the St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.

Agnes Nabukenya gave Uganda the lead in the first half while Ernestine Heutcho equalized for Cameroon shortly after the restart.

Speaking ahead of the game, Sherly Botes believes that the team will progress to the next round.

“The first leg gave us a clear picture of the opponents and we believe that we have made enough revision to get positive results. Cameroon will want to use the home advantage but we are ready and prepared to overcome them,” Said Botes

The winner between Uganda and Cameroon on aggregate will face either Zambia or Tanzania in the third round.
