The Uganda Premier League (UPL) secretariat on Friday released fixtures for the first round of the 2025/26 season, ushering in a new era under a revised competition format.
FUFA recently confirmed a structural change to the league, introducing a three-round format. Each of the 16 clubs will play 15 matches in the first round, meeting every opponent once — either eight at home and seven away or vice versa.
The new setup also brings doubleheaders, with two matches scheduled on the same day at the same venue to improve scheduling and boost fan engagement.
The season kicks off on September 26, 2025, and the first round will run until February 14, 2026. Fixtures for the remaining rounds will be released later.
The format is expected to heighten competition and create a more balanced fixture schedule as teams fight for the 2025/26 UPL title.
