Former Footballers under their umbrella body Former Footballers Initiative (FFI) will launch a Cooperative Society this Saturday 2nd December 2023, at Old Kampala Secondary School.
The event will feature financial experts who will provide guidance on money management. Additionally, there will be a football gala and a health camp.
During a visit to Bulange on Tuesday, the Buganda Kingdom pledged its support for the FFI’s endeavors.
“We want to thank you for paying us a visit. We shall have a representative from Buganda at the gala. We are also going to find a way on how your expertise can be used in our competitions.”
“They can inspire and motivate many of the players. They can also guide them,” noted Owek. Robert Wagwa Nsibirwa, the second deputy Katikkiro.
The former footballers also contributed sh4m towards the support of the Kingdom.
Former Bell FC player Isaac Ngobya, who represented the former footballers, expressed gratitude for the Kingdom’s gesture.
“We believe we have the capacity to see how we can advise the young generation. We don’t want to see them make the mistakes we did,” noted Ngobya.
Kennedy Lubogo, Paul Ssali, Polly Ouma, Saul Kizito, Jimmy Ssekandi, John Baptist Ntensibe, Godfrey Nyola, Vincent Ssemanobe, Edward Nsubuga, Edward Baguma, Resty Nantumbwe, Aisha Nakanwagi, and Luganda Vincent are some of the former players who paid a visit to the kingdom.
Veteran journalist Hassan Badru Zziwa was also part of the team.
